SUNDAY JULY 18, 2010
New coach appointed, plus news on the inaugural issue of the WCCC Annual ...

We are very pleased to announce that Richard Oliver will be back with the Crows for the 2010-11 season and has accepted the club coaching position.

We are all aware of Rich’s skills, passion and dedication to the game, and in the two seasons he has played for the Crows has shown himself to be a great clubman with knowledge of and interest in all of our sides. The committee believe Rich to be the man to develop players in all grades and having his playing ability in the top side is also important.

The last few seasons back in England, Rich has not only been curator for his club but done extensive coaching also.

Rich has said that he is looking forward to his return and said that 'it’s about time the Crows won another flag.' We are hopeful that this will be the year as well!

In the next few weeks, players should receive a copy of our club’s first ever Annual, together with a few words from Rich and the pre-season training dates.

SATURDAY JULY 17, 2010
Change of Plans for Sunday ...

The get-together on Sunday July 18 will now be at Burrendah Tavern, Burrendah Boulevarde, Willetton from 3pm. The change of plans has come about due to a number of people having lunchtime committments. Everyone is encouraged to drop in and catch up.

Prospective players are more than welcome to attend.

There will be games for the kids to play and the footy will be on for those who wish to watch whoever is playing. Please let a member of the committe know if you will be attending (and how many) for catering purposes. Hope to see you there!

The April edition of Crow Calls is now available in the Newsletter section. It includes a review of the finals, lists the 2010-11 office bearers, and most runs and wickets for the 2009-10 season.

The club is proud to announce that they will be producing their first annual - The Willetton Crows Annual - and is scheduled for release in July/August. The Annual will include all team averages, a review of the season, as well as for the first time in the club's history, every current Crows player's career record, plus the most games, runs, wickets and catches and all other batting and bowling historical records and award winners.

TUESDAY MARCH 23, 2010
Website Additions ...

The website now includes a Gallery section, which will include photos from the club - so far they include photos from the recent coaching clinic as well as some team pictures from over the years. Also, a collection of newsletters from season 1980-81 have been added to the Newsletter page.

TUESDAY MARCH 16, 2010
One Day E's into Final ...

The SMCA today advised the club that under SMCA By-law 41b, Phoenix have played a player in the ODE Semi Final when that player was not qualified to do so. Under SMCA by-laws, the game is now deemed a loss of game by Phoenix. The game has been awarded to the Willetton Crows.

The ODE Grand Final will be played between Kelmscott and the Willetton Crows at Rushton Park (23A).

THURSDAY MARCH 11, 2010
Semi-Finals teams and Website Update details ...

The Semi-Finals sides have been added to the Selections page.

The club is now in possession of five more scorebooks from the 1970s, so now we have all match details from 1973-74 to 1977-78 (including the hitherto unknown 5th Grade side from 1976-77 as well as the prized score book from our debut season - the 7th Grade side from 1973-74) and from 1980-81 to date.

Over the next few weeks, we will be adding a few new things to the website, including a Gallery section with photos from over the years, we will add some old club newsletters and also the scorebook pages from our very first match in October 1973, just weeks after we were formed ... a season where we went through unbeaten the the SSCA 7th Grade competition.

The club is still looking for details from 1977-78 (4th and 5th Grade sides), 1978-79 (any sides apart from 2nd, 3rd and 5th Grades) and 1979-80 (2nd and 3rd Grades) - approximately 5-6 sides out of some 142 sides from the period from 1973-74 to 2009-10.

FRIDAY MARCH 5, 2010
Volunteers to assist Finals sides ...

Training will continue at Burrendah Reserve for the length of our teams' finals campaign and assistance from any player who wants to help out at training will be greatly appreciated. The committee would also like to see people volunteer to act as scorers or team managers for both finals teams so that they players can concentrate on playing and not worry about scorebooks or setting up cones or stumps out. If you can assist in this way, then let either of the two captains (Rob Sims or James Della Bona) know so they can get things organised.

FRIDAY MARCH 5, 2010
Wind-up and AGM news ...

The 2009-10 season wind up is to be held at the Last Drop in Canning Vale on Saturday March 27. The cost per head will be $40, which will include your meal as well as a small contribution towards drinks. After the allowance for drinks is used, then you ill need to purchase your own drinks from the bar at our own cost. Nat James will be updating everyone on the details for payment, confirmation of numbers, etc. in the next weeks.

The Committee decided at their recent meeting that on this same day, we would have the 2010 AGM at Willetton Reserve on the same day (March 27) at 1.00pm preceding a Twenty20 match between 'the Aussies' and 'the World'. We have a fantastic club, but we need more people to help and assist with the running of the club if we are to be the best club we can be. We will put out more details regarding positions available and jobs to be done in the weeks before the meeting.

If you want to be part of the Twenty20 match, please advise Derek Mott so that he can organise team allocations. This is a great chance for our English, Pakistani, Indian (and Victorian) members of the club to exact revenge for the walloping they have received at the hands of the Aussies over the last hundred years or so. Be part of it and it should be a good day and then good night at the wind up.
